Week of January 25 - 29, 2021

 Circulatory System

We have begun the study of the Circulatory System in Science class.  Students learned about how to find their pulses and measured their pulse rates (with toothpick and marshmallow stethoscopes) after completing a series of physical activities.  Then they used a real stethoscope to listen to their heartbeats.













  • Student Council is selling Candy Grams - $1.00 per candy gram; deadline to purchase is Wednesday February 10th.  Delivery date is Thursday February 11th.

  • There is no school on Friday, February 12th and Monday, February 15th.

  • Enrollment contracts for the 2021-2022 academic year are due on Friday, February 26th.

Week of January 18 - 22, 2021

 Narrative Writing

"Help!  I'm trapped in a snow globe!"
 Students began writing fictional narrative writing stories about being trapped in a snow globe.  They brainstormed using a graphic organizer, then wrote and edited their rough copy, and finally published their story by typing it on their Chrome Books.  










"Actions, Not Words"

Sofia and her family lived out the HCA motto, "Actions, Not Words," by cleaning up her neighborhood on MLK Day of Service.  



MLK Prayer Service

Lower School students gathered for a prayer service to celebrate the life and message of Martin Luther King Jr. Each student had the opportunity to share a special intention prayer of peace, unity, and love.  

 Jaden and Gabbie read prayer intentions.

  • Winter Milestones Testing for 3rd Grade on Tuesday, February 2nd and Thursday, February 4th (Please see the letter in your child's homework folder)

 Math Facts Fun


Learning math facts can be fun.  Students partnered up to play "Four in a Row" to practice their 4 times tables.  





Sharing Our Talents

Miles shared his violin skills with his classmates. 



Braelynn shared her writing skills on Book Creator.

  • No School on Monday, January 18th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  

  • January 27th - School Picture day (Individuals only)
