Week of December 9, 2019

Christmas Time is Almost Here!

The Third Grade have been busy little elves decorating and preparing for the upcoming holidays.  
They worked together with the 4th Grade class to make Poinsettia ornaments for our Lower School Christmas tree. 

  

During this week's Community Time, the students took part in a "Las Posadas" celebration.  They gathered with their HCA families and made a craft, sang a Spanish song, and ate yummy churros.  The highlight was breaking open the pinatas.  

    

  

The Planeteers Christmas Project

The Planeteers' second service project this year was to make homemade birdseed ornaments.  The children had fun, using math skills, to follow the recipe and make beautiful ornaments.  They  were then wrapped and hand delivered to neighbors around the HCA School community.  Cornelia Connelly would have been proud of these fine students who gave of themselves to brighten the day of Drexel Hill residents and our flying friends, too.  Thanks to Miss Kathol for her help with the project!!

We are in full swing with Christmas Gala rehearsals.  Here are some "sneak peek" pictures of the class preparing for the BIG show.

This week was filled with "Character Counts" students. They  displayed positive behaviors of kindness, honesty, and respect.  Bella, Keith, and Colin chose the "Take Two" reward.
