Fly to India
Our final unit in Social Studies has begun… the 3rd Grade is off to the country of India. They flew on "Hoffman Airlines" using Google Earth. While aboard, they drew comparisons of U.S. and India's populations and the two countries' sizes. They also looked at Indian rupees and determined the current exchange rate to the U.S. dollar. Their favorite part of the "flight" was sampling in-flight snack of Indian Naan and juice. For the next few weeks, the students will learn about the customs and traditions of India. Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Srinivasan for allowing us to borrow the beautiful sari and other Indian artifacts. Dhanyavad!
Earth Day Service Activity
8th Grade Capstone Projects
On May 6th, the 3rd Grade participated in school wide Earth Day themed service projects. Our class made natural bird feeders out of gelatin, birdseed and pine cones.

8th Grade Capstone Projects
Each year, the 8th Grade class concludes their year with a Capstone project. This year's theme was Climate Change. The Lower School was invited to come and listen to the presentations and then have a Q & A session afterwards. The 3rd Grade was very impressed and also learned that we must, as a society do more to protect our environment or our world will be vastly different. They learned about global warming, rising sea levels, and changes in our weather that are already happening today. Here are some pictures from this informative and very impressive project.
