April 22 - 26, 2019




We have had lots of fun learning about and creating a compost bucket in 3rd Grade Science.  Students learned about the importance of composting and how easy it is to create our very own composter.  Using dirt, dried leaves, egg shells, water, fruits, vegetables, and of course, WORMS, the class worked hard on making a compost bucket.  It is being kept in HCA's Organic garden.  Each day, they will add food scraps leftover from lunch and two students will be responsible for watering and stirring the compost.

As part of our Science unit, we read, The Diary of a Worm.  
 
A young worm discovers, day by day, that there are some very good and some not so good things about being a worm in this great big world.  Afterwards, each child made their own worm comic strip.  Here are a couple:

"State of the Academy" - Join faculty and staff and other HCA parents to hear about the exciting things that are happening at HCA.  

Holy Child Academy is hosting a showing of "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age" on May 14 at 7 p.m. This documentary reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance. All parents in the nearby community are invited to join Holy Child Academy for this special engagement.
