Bat Loves the Night



The "Unicorn Pups" reading group completed their first research project in conjunction with the story, Bat Loves the Night.  Each student choose their favorite bat and wrote a research paper which included size, habitat, description, and special adaptation.  


    

    

  

Health Adventures

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grades visited the Health Education Center at Lankenau Hospital this week.  The 2nd and 3rd Grades attended the Health Adventures program.  They learned there are 206 bones in our bodies and our hearts act as a muscle, pump, and organ.  
      

  



      

  

Character Counts

This week's Character Counts student is Emmet.  He choose the "Teacher Time" reward.  Emmet did a Wayside School real aloud for the class and also taught a science lesson on Bridge construction.  
    


Founder's Day Prayer Service

Students participated in a Founder's Day prayer service on Oct. 15th commemorating the first Mass of the Holy Child Sisters.  At the prayer service they were commissioned to, "Go out and do service for others." This year, the 3rd Grade class will be The Planeteers and help to serve the Earth by participating in various projects to protect our environment.  

SHCJ Sister Francine spoke to students about the Founder's Day tradition.
