Week of March 8 - 12, 2021

Science - DIY Experiment

We concluded our unit on the heart and circulatory system by making "blood."  Students were excited to add plasma (water colored with yellow food coloring), platelets (cut up straws), white blood cells (small marshmallows) and red blood cells (red flood colored Cheerios) to make "blood."

Writing Paragraphs

We have been practicing writing proper paragraphs in L.A. class.  Beginning with a topic sentence, followed by three detail sentences, and ending with a conclusion sentence, students wrote about who they would like to interview and why.  Afterwards, they presented their paragraphs to the class.

CHRIST IS ALIVE!
Miss Kathol has been working with the third grade to write essays to compete in the Christ is Alive! essay contest.  This year's topic is, "Describe a moment when you felt close to God."   Cora's essay was chosen.  Stay tuned to hear the results of this special contest.
